A NEW START

It has been over two years since I have had a blog. It's time to jump back in, so I'm giving it a try. No promises I'll keep it up. I'll see how it goes. I thought I would start off with a little FUN! This photo is a Queen palm. Well, it WAS a Queen palm. Seven years ago when we moved to this house it was much prettier, and we tried to keep it going, but it was already full of woodpecker holes. Nearly every day the woodies visited just to keep the tree fully holed I guess! Anyhow, even though we gave it lots of TLC, it finally dropped its fronds. Then it began to curl. Then it curled some more. I've never seen a tree do this before. It will soon be cut down, but don'tcha wonder if it will come "full circle"?

Have you ever seen a tree do this? :)

  3. Oh Judie
It is so nice to see you back.
Never saw one bend over like yours.8)
Yes we had a dead palm in the yard too long
because of bird families living there. It was the tallest birdhouse on the block. Finally this year we took it out before spring.

  5. Hi! When we moved in here there was a much shorter one and it had started rotting and was bent over like that. It eventually rotted all the way down and had to be removed.

  7. Judie!!!! It's so good to see you back in Blogland. That tree sort of reminds me of an elephant's trunk.

  8. I am so glad you are blogging again. I hope you will blog about art again. Where I stayed in Antwerp they had a large photo of Frida Kahlo, who I learned about on your blog. It made me think of you. Speaking of art, you would have loved the Peter Paul Rubens artwork we viewed there.

As for the pathetic palm. . . . . I hope you plant a young one to replace it and have years to watch it grow.

  11. I'm so glad you're back! And no, I've never seen a tree do that. I think it must be an art palm. It's trying to become an outdoor sculpture. If it were sturdy enough, I think I'd hang a planter from it!
