STILL APRIL, NATIONAL POETRY MONTH

INTOXICATION

Boris Pasternak
from Poems of Dr Zhivago

Neath a willow with ivy entangled
We take cover in blustery weather.
My arms are wreathed about you;
In my raincape we huddle together.

I was wrong:  Not ivy, my dearest,
But hops encircle this willow.
Well, then, let's spread in its shelter
My cape for a rug and a pillow!

Sigh......such sweet love!  Like honey it drips over them.

NOTE:  If anyone is interested in following Cornell's Great Blue Heron nest cam, mom heron has laid her first egg, and dad is right there helping.     These are awesome birds!    http://cams.allaboutbirds.org/channel/8/Great_Blue_Herons/

    i visit you
    and
    find loveliness ...

    {{ feeling a tad sorrowful
    about forgetting this was
    ~~National Poetry Month~~
    as
    i never forgot
    before

    but

    as
    i have been seaside (!)
    i completely forgot
    it was even April !!

    go figure ... }}

    ""My cape for a rug and a pillow!""
    (love that
    line
    as the mere Thought
    of owning a Cape to trade
    makes my heart
    sing ... )
