Haiku my Heart - Halloween Shadow Watcher

source: clipartkid.com

BIG ORANGE MOON LOOKS DOWN
WATCHING THE TRICK OR TREATERS
SOMEONE ELSE WATCHES

So......it's HALLOWEEN and time for scary stuff.
Beware!  Halloween brings out not only ghosts and goblins - but others with more sinister thoughts than simple HALLOWEEN scare.

1. Watch behind you...
2. Lock your doors......
3. Close your drapes....
4. This is real..............

INTENSE INTENT

beside the darkened walkway
surrounded by deep foliage near her door
just beyond the reach of street lamp light

he waited

his need consumed him
it had become his nourishment
his “must have’ to continue into his tomorrow

he watched

she was a mere shadow behind a curtained window
but her movements betrayed her actions
causing his breath to catch in his throat

stomach knotted
hands clenched
palms wet
mind
body
soul
buzzing in anticipation
like a wolf watching prey
salivating
driven
his mind now only capable of monosyllabic thoughts

almost time

her window dark now     streets silent
no fire in his loins           just intense drive in his dark soul
an icy beast needing to be fed

in the morning          in the very silent morning
only a dragonfly       neon blue
with beads of morning dew glistening on delicate wings of antique lace

lingered in the foliage near her broken door

Please.....
before the moon is full...
share your haiku halloween thoughts and
Haiku cake,  this week hosted
by our own MMT

Hurry!
Time is short......

MUAH HA HA

  1. What a frightening scenario you've given us on this Friday before Halloween, Judie. May the evil intentions of the sinister ones not succeed!

  2. Amen, MMT. I felt a dread in my stomach as I read Judie's words. I wonder why Halloween is celebrated at all. But I guess it is not all horror and terror.

  3. I am imagining carrying that orange moon globe in my hand as I wander between the thin veils... XO

  6. Dew drops and dragonflies got me shivering...

  7. Few things are as terrifying as the feeling of another's awareness crawling down our necks and shivering our spines... telling us that we've been watched. You've done such a wonderful job at creeping me out. And I love it!
