There's nothing more poignant than a mother crying for her lost baby, whether bird or human.
such love expressed in your lovely haiku! beautiful video ~ Happy Weekend to you,ShutterBug Explores, aka (A Creative Harbor
I hope your cuckoo didn't lose it's chick. Here in the states we have Yellow-billed cuckoo and Black-billed cuckoo. Neither sounds anything like this cuckoo.
Here in the states we also have Mangrove cuckoo. None of them sound like this. We also have Jack Nicholson, and imported cuckoo clocks, that do sound like this. lol
I heard a live cuckoo this afternoon for the very first time, and here you are with one for me again Judie! How I hope that this cuckoo of your haiku had someone kind to carefully place this lost chick back in its nest...
Ow, this is sad.
Hope the wee fledgling will flap it's wings and learn to fly.
This is quite sad, your words fitted perfectly. All the best Jan
you are a wealth of mother love-i am grateful to bask in the protection of your limitless heart.
The juxtapositions dancing in your haiku are heartbreaking--a cuckoo, expert at leaving their babes in someone else's nest, crying for unnatural loss. Nature, even when ruthless, can be accepted. But when things happen wrongly, or too soon... they hurt so much more. Poor cuckoo.
Ah Magaly. Obviously I should have done research on the cuckoo before writing this haiku. What do I know except parrots? lol
I thought you had done it on purpose, lol! Well, I think the way you wrote it makes it extra effective.
I hope the mother found her baby! Big Hugs!
