THE FIRST DAY OF SUMMER

And it brings to mind the haunting summer song  "SUMMERTIME"  which I present here in it's twisted, present day version, with thanks or perhaps apologies to, the music of George Gershwin and original lyrics by DuBose Heyward.  Can you hear the melody in your mind?  Can you feel the summer heat?

SUMMERTIME..... AND THE LIVIN'S NOT EASY,
FISH AIN'T SWIMMIN'
AND THE MARSHES AREN 'T HIGH.

 BIG OIL DADDY'S RICH,
HIS BANK ACCOUNT IS GOOD LOOKIN'
BUT HUSH LITTLE BABY,
DON'T YOU CRY.

ONE OF THESE MORNINGS
YOU'RE GONNA RISE UP SINGING
THEN YOU'LL SPREAD YOUR WINGS
AND YOU'LL TAKE TO THE SKY.

BUT TIL THAT MORNING,
THERE'S JUST OIL ALL AROUND YOU

WITH YOUR DADDY AND MOMMY
STANDING BY.

SUMMERTIME......AND THE LIVIN'S NOT EASY........
La,la, Lala,,,,hmmmmm,hmmmmmm,la la
