    Scarecrows work about 10 minutes. I think they startle more people than birds. They just make you feel a little better because you have done something to try to save a few veggies from the marauders.

    Love it when the scare crows come out. Yes I think they do keep certain birds away from the crops. Folks have been using them for centuries. LOVE you.

    Perfect for the season. And how I love the imagery. Most things about scarecrows and crows lean towards the terrifying (especially this time of year), but your poem is bright and welcoming--a creator of smile and warmth. Love it.
