Do scarecrows really work?
Ever?

  1. Scarecrows work about 10 minutes. I think they startle more people than birds. They just make you feel a little better because you have done something to try to save a few veggies from the marauders.
    Have a good weekend.

  5. Love it when the scare crows come out. Yes I think they do keep certain birds away from the crops. Folks have been using them for centuries. LOVE you.

  6. I don't think nice scare crows, like the one on that image, work... if I was a bird I would love to sit on his hat! Love your haiku!

  8. Perfect for the season. And how I love the imagery. Most things about scarecrows and crows lean towards the terrifying (especially this time of year), but your poem is bright and welcoming--a creator of smile and warmth. Love it.

  9. This is such an evocate poem, in so few lines. Colour me awed.
