Love the way you have beautifully expressed this wonderful tradition.
ReplyDeleteI also really admire the flying crow pastel, they are one of my favourite birds.
Beautiful words in your Haiku.
ReplyDeleteI do like the doll, such fabulous colours.
All the best Jan
Blessings of LOVE to you dear Judie and all who have gone before you.
ReplyDeleteHappy Dia De las Muertos.
Tis that time of year. Have a great weekend celebrating.
ReplyDeleteMy alter is very small this year... and I love thinking of your haiku and this beautiful spirit doll to assist in the remembering. And yes, my photo was a per-celebration costume and selfie of these three days, before the fires hit. I am grateful for the remembrance of having that easy afternoon of playing.
ReplyDeleteAnd although that altar is small, the emotions it holds fill worlds, much the way so much can be read in poetry as small as a haiku.
ReplyDeleteto rest here beside your always open heart. sigh. as real and welcome as the altars, flowers and candle light we ignite honoring all of those who have lived and loved before us.
ReplyDeleteI've seen a number of altars while I've been here in Guadalajara. I love this way of remembering those who are no longer with us!
ReplyDeleteTradition is a wonderful thing. I love the brightness of your doll... and the truth of the words.
ReplyDeleteI hope your celebration was exactly what you wanted.
