Haiku my Heart - After the Rain

 raindrops on green leaf
sparkling bright in morning sun
finally....a drink

***

it has been soooo very dry here in this corner of Florida.  It rains all around, but not here. The grass, the trees, everything is starving for water. Sprinkling is not enough. They need water from the universe! And finally...we got some. Not a lot, but afternoon thunderstorms bring rain, even if it is only for a short spurt.  Sharing here some very, very grateful children of Mother Nature.

At last, the jasmine is blooming
This is not a vine, but a Lakeview Jasmine tree. You
can see how big it is because it is hugging a foxtail palm.

Poor little Thyrillis. So glad its blooming again.
Mr. Frog always has a drink for the birdies and other critters.
Now he has a jasmine flower and a leaf too.

Even the little deer hiding among the asparagus fern
appreciate a drink.

I hope you have had some rain where you are, and that your
bit of Mother Nature is as happy as she is here.

  1. I was once told that you can (mostly) keep things alive by watering them, but plants NEED rain to grow. And how I love the smell of rainwashed air.
Your frog is gorgeous, and I love that he too has a jasmine flower.

  2. Thanks for visiting my blog post, J C! Ms Wee is a beautiful bird. It's so hard when we lose our beloved pets. We never forget them. I'm glad your thirsty plants got a brief rain. May they have much more. Happy weekend to you!

  6. These blooms are lovely. We don't have jasmine here in New Hampshire, at least not outside. I'm not sure I've ever actually seen on blooming. Happy JUly 4th weekend.

  7. Nice that you got some rain and I like that the frog supplies water for the birds,...so cute. We had such an amazing snowy winter that all our lakes in So Cal Mountains filled up like crazy even Lake ARrowhead was flowing up on the cement pathways near the village. Our local lake is gorgeous right now. It was hard to put up with the blizzard and a lot of things happened to peoples properties etc...but it was worth it for the r eplenishment of the lakes. The trees and bushes have never looked so good up here. I hope you get a lot of rain and the Universe will smile down on Florida.
